EAS-15 EPOXY LAMINATING/ ADHESIVE SYSTEMEAS-15 is an extra heavy duty epoxy laminating/ adhesive system for use with glass cloth, aramid or carbon fibers and wood laminating and coatings. The system utilizes one main hardener ECA-032 mixed at a 1:4 by weight ratio with one of two resins, ELV-0020 resin or EMV-0043 resin: ECA-032 Epoxy Curing Agent, is a room temperature curing agent for liquid epoxy resins. It is designed to minimize skin irritation potential. Used for: In-plant, wet lay-up laminating and tooling. Also used for water-ski, wakeboard and snowboard manufacture, wooden boat and auto-body patch kits. ECA-032 can be used as to make an aggregate bonding mortar. An elevated temperature cure is recommended for high flexural and tensile strength bonding and laminating. PHYSICAL STATE: A clear, light liquid of low viscosity STORAGE LIFE: Over 1 Year in Sealed Containers at Ambient Temperature. TYPICAL PROPERTIES: Viscosity @ 77 F 600-800 centipoise Color (Gardner) 1 Equivalent Wt. Per H 48 Density (Wt./gal) @ 77f 8.4# Flash Point (Closed Cup) 347 F RECOMMENDED USAGE: 25 Parts per 100 Parts Liquid Epoxy Resin Having Epoxy Equivalent 190. i.e. ELV-0020 EMV-0043 ELV-2003 TYPICAL HANDLING PROPERTIES: Gel Time (105g @ 77 F) 25 Minutes Thin Film Set Time (77 F) 4-6 Hr TYPICAL PERFORMANCE: Heat Deflection Temperature 125 F (ASTM D648-268 Psi) HANDLING PRECAUTIONS: Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet on ECA-032. LAMINATING RESIN: 1 ELV-0020 is a very strong epoxy for laminating and bonding of wooden or composite boat manufacture ELV-0020 is a low viscosity epoxy resin, characterized by higher performance properties and chemical resistance. When used with amine hardeners, such as ECA-032 or ECA-408, compositions based on ELV-0020 demonstrate excellent physical properties, adhesion, appearance and surface properties. APPLICATIONS: * Casting * Electrical * Laminating * Tooling * Flooring * Coating * Impregnation ADVANTAGES: ELV-0020 is especially good for applications where low viscosity is necessary for good impregnation or maximum filler loading and yet good physical properties are still required. TYPICAL PROPERTIES: Epoxy Value, Eq/100g 0.52-0.54 Weight per epoxide (WPE) 185-193 Viscosity, 25 C (77 F) 500-700cps Color, Gardner 7 max Density, Lb/Gal. 25 C (77 F) 9.5 Flash Point (Closed cup) 275 F FORMULATING/MIXING: Formulations based on ELV-0020 can be easily mixed at room temperature. The low viscosity of the resin permits easy incorporation of hardener, modifiers and fillers. ELV-0020 can be easily blended with EMV-0043 at different ratios to achieve a higher viscosity. Steel Substrate: 4-6 Mils LAMINATING RESIN: 2EMV-0043 is a very strong epoxy for laminating and bonding of wooden or composite boat manufacture. This epoxy resin was designed for the wet lay-up laminating of epoxy composites and wood. It has excellent adhesion to many plastics, including P-tex, pbt (and many other substrates). Use at a 4:1 ratio by weight with ECA-032 hardener. It has been also been used in the manufacture of water-skis and snowboards and snow skis.
