ECA-408 High Temp. Hardener ECA-408 is a high temp. hardener for use in the laminating of many different substrates. It can be used, for example, in the compression molding of skateboards, snow-skis, snowboards, water-skis or wakeboards. This hardener cures well at elevated temperatures (190-230 deg. F) required for molding of snowboards, whereas many conventional hardeners do not. The long pot life is very useful for complex lay-ups requiring extended work-life. ECA-408 hardener is also used with casting resins like EHV-2911 Aluminum filled epoxy resin, at a ration of 8 parts resin to 1 part hardener. This is cured at room temperature and then post cured for 2 hours at 200 deg. F and then 2 hours at 300 deg. F. A high temperature resistant mold is then obtained. ECA-408 is also used with EHV-0047 high temp. epoxy novalac resin to achieve high temperature properties and excellent chemical resistance.
