EHV-2911 Aluminum-filled Casting Resin

EHV-2911 Casting Resin When Combined with ECA-347 Hardener Provides a Low-shrinkage, Medium - High Heat Distortion,  Machinable Casting Resin , designed for castings of up to 3" Thickness.  This Product Can Be Used for Patterns and Molds Subject to Temperatures of up to 240 Degrees F., Intermittent or 180 Degrees F, Continuous.

Note: for Continuous Use up to 270 Degrees F, ECA-408 Should Be Used (See ECA-408 Data Sheet).

Typical Use: Can Be Used to Make (Soft) Plastic Tooling for Prototype Production Runs. Also Used for Candle Molds.

Mix Ratio: Mix 100 Parts EHV-2911 Resin with 16 Parts by Weight of ECA-347 Curing Agent. For Slower Cure/ larger Casting Use 14 Parts by Weight of ECA-347 Curing Agent (Up to 5" Thick Castings).

Pot Life: 200 Grams Mass 60-70 Minutes at 70 Deg. F, with ECA-347 Curing Agent. One Pound Mass 45 Minutes at 70 Deg. F., with ECA-347 Curing Agent (Peak Exotherm 256 Deg. F).

Viscosity:

EHV-2911 Casting Resin       40-50,000 cps  @ 77 deg. F.

ECA-347 Curing Agent          200-400 cps  @ 77 deg. F.

ECA-408 Curing Agent           60-90 cps @ 77 deg. F

Linear Shrinkage:                    Astm D2566-79:     0.0025 Inch/inch

Electrical Conductivity:           EHV-2911 Aluminum Filled Epoxy Is Not Conductive.

Elevated Temp. Hardness:      Hardness of Castings Were as Follows:

At 175 Deg. F.                                                           At 180 Deg. F.

EHV-2911 Casting Resin Can Be Heated for a Faster Cure. After the Initial Cure at 72 Deg. F., for 5 Hours, Apply Heat up to 160 Deg. F., for 3 Hours. This will also raise the Heat Distortion Temperature.

Shelf Life:     Six Months Guaranteed in Unopened Containers.  Stirring Before Use Is Normally Required.

Clean-up: Uncured Epoxy May Be Cleaned off Tools with Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Toluene or Blends Thereof. (Careful! These Solvents May Dissolve Plastics.)

Precautions: Wear Gloves. Avoid Contact with Skin and Eyes. In the Event of Contact, Wash off Skin with Soap and Water as Soon as Possible. Wash Eyes Thoroughly with Water and Consult a Physician Immediately. Product Contains Epoxy Resins and Organic Amines.
