ELV-0010 EPOXY LAMINATING RESIN GENERAL: ELV-0010 is a low cost, low viscosity epoxy resin, characterized by minimal handling hazards and very slight odor. When used with amine hardeners, such as ECA-032 or ECA-342, compositions based on ELV-0010 demonstrate excellent physical properties, adhesion, appearance and surface properties. APPLICATIONS: * Casting * Electrical * Laminating * Tooling * Flooring * Coating * Impregnation ADVANTAGES: ELV-0010 is especially good for applications where low viscosity is necessary for good impregnation or maximum filler loading or where reduced odor and diminished toxicity is required. TYPICAL PROPERTIES: Epoxy Value, Eq/100g 0.464-0.494 Weight per epoxide (WPE) 202-216 Viscosity, Cannon-Fenske, 25 C (77 F) 500-700 Color, Gardner 3 max Density, Lb/Gal. 25 C (77 F) 9.2 Flash Point (Closed cup) 340 F FORMULATING/MIXING: Formulations based on ELV-0010 can be easily mixed at room temperature. The low viscosity of the resin permits easy incorporation of hardener, modifiers and fillers. ELV-0010 can be easily blended with EMV-0040 or EHV-0050 at different ratios to achieve a higher viscosity. Steel Substrate: 4-6 Mils PACKAGING AND STORAGE: ELV-0010 is supplied in 9# (1 Gallon) Cans, 45# (5 gallon) pails and 500# (55 gallon)steel drums. This product has a minimum SHELF LIFE of ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF PURCHASE, WHEN STORED IN UNOPENED, SEALED CONTAINERS IN A DRY PLACE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION: ELV-0010 is considered to be practically non-toxic. The acute oral LD 50 in rats of both ingredients is greater than 10,000 mg/kg. ELV-0010 is a moderate skin irritant and moderate sensitizer. HANDLING/SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: The following basic rules must be followed when working with all epoxy products: Avoid contact with Eyes or skin. Avoid inhalation of dust or vapors. Wear impervious gloves and splashproof goggles. Wash hands, arms and face with soap (non-alkaline) and lukewarm water at regular intervals, followed by thoroughly drying with a paper towel or any other clean towel. Good Mechanical ventilation of the workrooms and storage rooms, as well as local exhaust/suction hoods for workbenches, is necessary. For respiratory protection, use NIOSH approved respirators. FIRST AID: For skin contact, wash immediately with soap and lukewarm water, or with a suitable non-solvent hand cleaner. DO NOT USE A CLEANING RAG OR SOLVENT FOR THIS PURPOSE. For eye contact, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician. For inhalation, remove individual to fresh air. Additional information is listed in our material Safety Data Sheet. |
