                         ELV-0020  EPOXY LAMINATING RESIN

 GENERAL:

ELV-0020 is a low cost, low viscosity epoxy resin, characterized by higher performance properties and  chemical resistance.  When used with hardeners, such as ECA-032 or ECA-345, compositions based on ELV-0020 demonstrate excellent physical properties, adhesion, appearance and surface properties.

APPLICATIONS:    * Casting

                           * Electrical

                           * Laminating

                           * Tooling

                           * Flooring

                           * Coating

                           * Impregnation

ADVANTAGES:

ELV-0020 is especially good for applications where low viscosity is necessary for good impregnation or maximum filler loading and yet good physical properties are still required.

TYPICAL PROPERTIES:

              Epoxy Value, Eq/100g                  0.52-0.54

              Weight per epoxide (WPE)            185-193

              Viscosity,  25 C (77 F)                 500-700cps

              Color, Gardner                             7 max

              Density, Lb/Gal. 25 C (77 F)           9.5

              Flash Point (Closed cup)                275 F

FORMULATING/MIXING:

Formulations based on ELV-0020 can be easily mixed at room temperature.  The low viscosity of the resin permits easy incorporation of hardener, modifiers and fillers.

ELV-0020 can be easily blended with EMV-0040 or EHV-0050 at different ratios to achieve a higher viscosity.

 SAFETY INFORMATION:

ELV-0020 can cause skin irritation.  Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling, and before drinking and smoking. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Use with adequate ventilation.

HANDLING/SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:

 The following basic rules must be followed when working with all epoxy products:

Avoid contact with Eyes or skin.

Avoid inhalation of dust or vapors.

Wear impervious gloves and splash proof goggles.

Wash hands, arms and face with soap (non-alkaline) and lukewarm water at regular intervals, followed by thoroughly drying with a paper towel or any other clean towel.

Good Mechanical ventilation of the workrooms and storage rooms, as well as local exhaust/suction hoods for workbenches, is necessary.

For respiratory protection, use NIOSH approved respirators.

FIRST AID:

For skin contact, wash immediately with soap and lukewarm water, or with a suitable non-solvent hand cleaner.  DO NOT USE A CLEANING RAG OR SOLVENT FOR THIS PURPOSE.

For eye contact, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician.

For inhalation, remove individual to fresh air.
