ETH-003 COMPRESSION MOLDING EPOXY GENERAL: ETH-003 is a clear, thixotropic epoxy resin based on Bisphenol A. ETH-003 is characterized by excellent anti-pinholing properties and is used in many applications to compensate for poor fitting or uneven urethane foam cores in compression molding.. When used with amine hardeners, such as ECA-032, ECA-313 , ECA-375, ECA-315 or ECA-312 excellent physical properties, ESPECIALLY high compressive strength are obtained. In molding applications where dry areas are produced in regular production runs, this system can alleviate the problem - because it will remain in the required area without being squeezed out (due to it's thixotropic nature.) . CURE TIME CURE TEMPERATURE Between 8 and 24 minutes 160 to 185 deg. F Depending on hardener and temp. Consult tech sales. PACKAGING AND STORAGE: ETH-003 is supplied in 9# (1 Gallon) Cans, 45# (5 gallon) pails , 500# (55 gallon)steel drum and 3000 pound totes.. This product has a minimum SHELF LIFE of ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF PURCHASE, WHEN STORED IN UNOPENED, SEALED CONTAINERS IN A DRY PLACE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE (70 to 90 deg. F ). TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION: ETH-003 is considered to be practically non-toxic. The acute oral LD 50 in rats of both ingredients is greater than 10,000 mg/kg. ETH-003 is a moderate skin irritant and moderate sensitizer. HANDLING/SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: The following basic rules must be followed when working with all epoxy products: Avoid contact with Eyes or skin. Avoid inhalation of dust or vapors. Wear impervious gloves and splashproof goggles. Wash hands, arms and face with soap (non-alkaline) and lukewarm water at regular intervals, followed by thoroughly drying with a paper towel or any other clean towel. Good Mechanical ventilation of the workrooms and storage rooms, as well as local exhaust/suction hoods for workbenches, is necessary. For respiratory protection, use NIOSH approved respirators. FIRST AID: For skin contact, wash immediately with soap and lukewarm water, or with a suitable non-solvent hand cleaner. DO NOT USE A CLEANING RAG OR SOLVENT FOR THIS PURPOSE. For eye contact, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician immediately. For inhalation, remove individual to fresh air. Give oxygen if necessary.
