MF-208 AQUEOUS OVERPRINT VARNISH

  GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS:

This is an acrylic modified urethane dispersion used for coating wood, plastic, metal,

 concrete, paper and leather substrates. It produces a clear, flexible, high gloss coating.

MF-208 has good adhesion and flow characteristics on plasticized vinyl.

This product has excellent U.V. resistance and good chemical resistance. It is considered a high

gloss coating. We manufacture colored versions of this product (see price list).

 VISCOSITY                       : 610-780 cps Brookfield (approx.)

NON-VOLATILES             :  35.00%  + - 1.00

GLOSS                              : 90 + at 1 mil. Dry

WEIGHT PER GALLON   :  8.80 + - .20 Lbs/Gallon

 

 V.O.C.  :  0.30 Lbs/Gal with water,  0.96 Lbs/gal excluding water.

 SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:  roughen and then clean the substrates (recommended).

 APPLICATION VISCOSITY: as needed for silk-screening, spraying or brushing.

                        Reducer: use urethane reducer or can be water thinned.

 

RECOMMENDED WET FILM :  2-3 mils wet.

 RECOMMENDED DRY FILM :  1-2 mils.

 APPLICATION METHOD   :  Silkscreen, brush or spray.

 RECOMMENDED CURE     :  130 degrees F.  surface temperature for 15 to 30 secs.

 DRY TIME :  7 days at room temperature. Heat cure is recommended.

 CLEAN UP INSTRUCTIONS: Water. 

 SPECIAL NOTES :  INTERCOAT ADHESION OF THE CLEAR VARNISH TO OTHER

                        COATINGS NEEDS TO BE TESTED BEFORE THE SYSTEM

                        IS COMMERCIALIZED.  GOOD SOLVENT RESISTANCE

                        (ESPECIALLY WHEN HEAT-CURED - SEE ABOVE) AGAINST

                        NAPHTHA / MINERAL SPIRITS / AND XYLENE.
