P 8001 PLASTISOL P 8001 Grade Plastisol is a 100% solids, free flowing liquid vinyl dispersion with a gel temperature of approximately 170 deg. F. and a fusion temperature of 360 deg. F. After fusing it becomes a tough, flexible coating; resistant to acids, cleaners, plating solutions, petroleum fuels, detergents and salt water. It is an excellent material for dip coating, providing a decorative protective and insulative coating as well as for making molded parts. This type of plastisol is widely used for coating plating racks for the plating industry, tool handles, many types of gaskets, crab pots, and protection for material handling equipment. Where adhesion to metal is needed, QCM Plastisol Primer A 1104 must be used per data sheet. This product is available in various colors. Mostly stocked are Black (P8001-901) and an Oxide Green color (P8704) frequently used by Boeing Co. as a tooling rack protective coating. Meets TPS-84 tooling specification. SEE MSDS P8001 To remove plastisol from metal parts, use plastisol stripper, MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) or cut and strip plastisol off while parts are hot.
